
A previous article documented the crucial role Palestinians played in the 1978-79 Islamic Revolution, training and otherwise assisting the Islamist and Communist terrorists warring against the Shah within the country, and tying together the external coalition that sustained the year-long struggle that concluded with Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini being swept to power. The Palestinian role went beyond this, however. Palestinians were directly involved in the Revolution inside Iran, including in the most politically consequential event leading up to the fall of the Shah.
